Well, I hardly know where to start!! Day 3 was even better than days 1 and 2...maybe even put together! Our God is here on the island at work not only in the people we see, but He is blessing and revealing Himself to these students.
The first place we went this morning was an assisted living center that was beautiful. Your students are taking time to talk to and share with this slightly older group. It is so great to see faces light up during the conversations. And, I do mean faces of the residents AND the students! Some of the residents needed to be taken back to their apartments when we were finished and had the distinct pleasure of being "driven" by our students. Grayson and some of his friends took a lady home who was "hip". We learned today that Randy Jones does not have a license to drive a wheel chair...you can ask him about that.
After we left there, we went to truly the largest field I have EVER seen. Island Community Church needed this HUGE field raked and bagged!! YIKES!! It was 130 degrees! I may have exaggerated that part somewhat. We left 1000 bags filled with clippings...may be another slight exaggeration. Anyway, the shirts we had planned to wear to our next presentation were...how do I say...not worthy!! It was rewarding to see the great pile of bags by the road and the clear field as we pulled away. (You might want to ask Kim about "piles" too.)
After a quick shower and change, we were off again to the MOST THRILLING event to date! We were at another assisted living center. These residents drank in every word spoken and every word sung!! God absolutely filled the room with His electric presence! Every BIONIC and almost every student had a personal embrace from our Lord Himself! Just thinking about it again is giving me a repeat performance of the chills! One lady said afterwards that people had told her for many years that she was crazy...the name of this tour...and she said her response has always been, "Yes, crazy for Jesus!" The students really responded to their message and the communication of it so pertinently. Not only are they near perfect musically, they are remembering lines and giving them in such a clear way! The communication of the message is undeniably Spirit filled and God ordained!
We have seen many very specific prayers answered, and that has been a great joy as well. We are praying for Melodee who is greatly missed by all. I know she is keeping up with everything through many sources. Thanks, Mel for all your prayers! God is listening and moving.
Brent came in today, so we have one more "kid" to keep up with! The students love him and he LOVES them. It is so apparent!
I can't wait to see what God will do tomorrow! Good night and blessings!
