Day 2.
Today much was accomplished in the name of our Lord, and I think He was honored and pleased in action and attitude. Several students started the day in the kitchen helping to prepare lunch and dinner…that we all enjoyed!
After a little orientation on the work to be done in the afternoon, we headed off to the capitol. The air was OUT! It was HOT! But the students sang beautifully and drew a crowd from the basement to the third or fourth floor. There were people coming out of offices and hallways to hear these "angels" as more than a few onlookers put it. In this venue, it was great to hear Priority sing, "You are God alone." In this day and age of legislators making HUGE decisions NEEDING God's wisdom, they sang that He is "unchangeable, unshakable, unstoppable." Amen and amen! After our time was to be over in the capitol, we were invited to sing at a Bible study being held across the hall.
There was an afternoon of painting in less than ideal circumstances…like 100 degrees and no airflow. Also painting was going on in the parking lot to mark handicapped spaces. Several students helped in the medical piece of the Good Shepherd ministry. Some moved clothing and what not to a different facility to make more room in the medical piece.
Then "Whatever" was sung again for this host church. Their student intern spoke to our students saying that music has been missing from their ministry for some time. She hoped that our students would be an inspiration to share God's love in this way. It brightened our students' faces to see that they would be used like this.
Good day! Good day!
