wednesday

Day 2.

Wednesday we started with a devotion about staying connected to the VINE. When we got into the town where we would be serving, HWY 190 that brought us into town became VINE Street!! I do believe our Lord was with us reminding us of our need of Him as our source of strength and reason to serve.

The group split in two. One group went to the Boys' and Girls' Club, and the other went to help with Christmas in April...in June (apparently). That group painted and did a marvelous job. I was told that the pictures tell the whole story, so check them out! The students who went to the Boys' and Girls' Club played with kids all day. It was GREAT to see our students interact with the students here. They played one game called "Battle Ball" that is very much like extreme dodge-ball. I saw a lesson in the game...it starts with 2 lines faces each other across a gym. What I saw is that as people threw there ammunition across the line...their confidence wained. So, the lesson is that the more ammunition one has, the more confident one feels and is therefore on the offensive and not the defensive...I think that is what we are called to do...go out and take our "ammunition" to the world. As long as one is on the offense...we don't have to run in fear of what is being hurled at us...WE HAVE THE BEST AMMUNITION!!

We ended our day at FBC singing and eating some real-honest-to-goodness Louisiana food! It was GREAT!
