WEDNESDAY

WHAT ELSE?

Day 2 is nearly over…and most of us are ready for it to be!! It has been a GREAT day. Your students served in many different capacities today. We went to Bokencamp Children's Center to work this morning. This is a place for kids from Central and South America. Let me take this opportunity to tell you that Kim's Spanish is…what's the word?? Oh, yes, LACKING!! But, the language of God's love erases all barriers. We will be singing for them tomorrow and doing some more work for them. It was amazing to see your students SERVE in such a selfless way for MANY hours. We painted and prepared the rooms for that by moving furniture. We sorted clothes into several categories and then went further into categorizing by sizes. It was a tedious job and there was MUCH to sort…as a matter of fact we filled and cleared the same room at least 3 times with stuff they kept bringing from storage closets all over the facility. I heard this more than once from your students, "What ELSE can I do for you?" And the coordinator said more than once, "Oh, great…are you guys REALLY doing that?? I was going to have to do that this afternoon. Thank you so much! I can't believe you got through SO much."

Tonight we sang for our host church, which is Brighton Park Baptist Church. THEY HAVE BEEN THE MOST GRACIOUS HOSTS!! They ask constantly what ELSE we need and they say, "We are so thankful that you are here. We can't believe you have come here to help us." Their pastor was so encouraging in his welcome and wrap up tonight. I can't remember when I have heard such hearty and unanimous AMENS! They agreed with what the students shared, and once again, the students shared about their OBSESSION with God! It is a beautiful message that I KNOW you will enjoy on Sunday…don't miss it!

I heard a line tonight that I did not even hear last night. "The world is empty, pale and cold compared to knowing You, Lord." AND tonight the part about serving being wrapped up in that OBSESSION rang out clearly because of what we had seen them do throughout this day!

Thanks for sharing your students with us this week! They have been and continue to be blessings!
