IN CHRIST

well...it is a little after 11pm on day one and things are going very well. Our first stop was at the Baptist Children's Home where we sang IN CHRIST for a number of kids and staff members. Some of the words that caught my attention were, "No power of hell, no scheme of man can ever pluck me from His hand." "Yes, I believe!" Though the world WILL come against me; I will be faithful. My assurance is in MY SAVIOR! "Every nail driven through your guiltless hands says that your love has no end...Redeemer, Savior, Friend." Those are powerful words with an eternal message! How important for the kids at the children's home to hear. How important for our students to sing and how fabulous to hear them ringing out through all the many levels of the state capitol building. A woman who worked at the capitol passed through the rotunda several times where we were singing...I think she just couldn't stay away. But one pass through the students were singing "Break Through" that talks about God's being the only answer to our pain, guilt and longings. She looked at me and said, "I know that's right! This is great place to hear that!" I know she was encouraged just by her face and comment. I also know that the beautiful music of God's grace and mercy FILLED every inch of that place all the way up! Your students are off to a great start. On day one, we have sung IN CHRIST and been IN CHRIST...one more phrase to leave you with..."For I am His and He is mine!"
