IN CHRIST

Day 2 is coming to a close, and more good work was done by your students. We spent the morning with residents of the Baptist Retirement Village cleaing out gutters, washing windows, changing light bulbs and various other tasks. We also sang with and for many in a worship service led by our students. After lunch we split into two groups. One continued the good work where we had started the day. The other group worked in the Regional Food Bank where they set a record for the most boxes packed or cans sorted or something else fabulous! They were thrilled with the work and attitude of the students.

Here are some words that stood out today in the various presentations...which included our host church- First Baptist Church Oklahoma City. "I am determined - I will NOT be ashamed to live so the whole world will see...I BELIEVE!" "I need You to break through 'cause I want to praise You with nothing between You and me." With great strength and emphasis they proclaimed, "Here in the power of Christ I'll stand."

The dialogue includes a character named "Chris" who tells another character "Lies" to "take a hike" because she has made her choice! She believes!

The last song is "Redeemer, Savior, Friend." It is a powerful song. One line that jumped out today on that one is, "Redeemer, redeem my heart again." I think that was a good reminder to me because it made me think about what that could mean since it could not possibly mean that Jesus would need to make His sacrifice again...may it never be! But it made me think that as He pursues us He chases us deeper and deeper into Himself IF we will run. The other thing it made me think was that it is asking Him to always help us remember our FIRST LOVE! Hold us fast, Lord Jesus!
