Thursday

Nearly midnight here on day 3, but the work has been good and the reward great. Today was spent in hot and heavy work around our host church in OKC and projects at the Grace Rescue Mission and the Baptist Mission House. The crews here at the church cleaned out trash from previously unused spaces and hauled a LARGE dumpster load of it out to the parking lot making MANY trips with heavy loads up and down several flights of stairs. Some sorted materials to make them handier and just some general clean up and maintenance around. Some students who were assigned to the church also did some painting in some classrooms. The group that went to the missions prepared the buildings for paint by scraping old paint off. There was some clean up needed there also. We sang there tonight and the students were VERY willing to show their friends who had stayed at the church just what they had done earlier. It is good to see how they work and enjoy accomplishing the tasks asked of them. They seem to really feel good knowing that they have helped someone.

You might think that with all this work mentioned that we didn't have much time for an IN CHRIST presentation. BUT we got 2 of those in today as well. At 2 we sang at the Baptist Boys' Ranch and then tonight at the Rescue Mission. We are accomplishing much and having a great time doing it.
